Just showing off my new ride… I picked up a “brand new” 2014 TriCross X3 from my LBS.
I was in the market for a new ride and was trying to buy a “Salsa Vaya” from another “LBS” until I found out how difficult it is to get a “Salsa” in a down market. I stumbled across a shop that had a surplus inventory of the now discontinued “Specialized TriCross.” I really couldn’t go wrong for under $800 dollars. In the first few months I’m impressed with the ride and the build quality, although the factory seat is not very comfortable “already replaced with a Brooks B17.” Finding a new bike thats two years old is like getting a concert T-shirt from your youth at a local thrift store.
A few pics from last weekend
It appears the good weather is finally here so I took to the Douglas trail for some exercise.
The trail is little rough from the long winter.
It never ceases to amaze me how pretty the outdoors can be so close to suburbia.
First time out ice fishing this season. Perfect day and we caught fish.
Currently sitting on stand deer hunting in SE MN. While I’ve had no luck with the deer this morning has been very peacefull. Seems funny to be in no hurry, I always feel rushed in my life, yet somehow this morning I’m at ease.
It’s been five years since I last deer hunted or any type of hunting. A recent trip to South Dakotas Black Hills seems to have peeked my interest in it once against.
As I sit here I keep saying why did u loose interest, then it dawns upon me…technology. It’s a lot easier to sit at home and surf the web or watch the DVR then get moving.
I know I’m on my iPhone so this is going to be my happy medium. Get out and get moving.
