Tuesday, August 20… morning walk…who needs a gym?

North Meadow Trail 9 AM Oxbow park outside of Byron Minnesota, slightly overcast.About 68°, extremely humid outside. First rain in weeks… smells great out here. I can hear the bees across the grass humming after the fresh rain. When back in the woods the air is stifling, the canopy is extremely thick considering how dry it’s been this year. Pics below.

Beautiful morning for a walk at one of the primer county facilities in Minnesota.

The Great River Ridge Trail….First Time.

Living in SE Minnesota as a casual cyclist offers numerous opportunities to ride on state and county trails as well as a bounty of trails available in towns like; Rochester, Winona and Austin. Great River Ridge trail is one such trail. A nice running from county road 9 just North of Eyota Minnesota to Plainview while passing through Viola and Elgin. In general there’s nothing spectacular about the trail, it’s a old railroad bed converted to a bike path by the state. In the future it’s going to hook up to other communities in SE Minnesota but for now it’s a nice get away from Rochester. Below are a few pictures I snapped along the way.

Birthday Bike Ride

On my 46th Birthday I decided to go for a bike ride and get some exercise. For the ride I listened to “Live, Paradiso” and I used my favorite cheap cycle sport bike “Redline R540.” Here are some of the pictures from the “Douglas Trail” in SE, MN.

ATV in SE MN

With all the wet weather It’s been a little tough to get the 4wheeler out and enjoy the local trails. Usually I’ve taken them out two or three times by this point in the spring however this year it’s been a little late going with the cold weather and abundance of water.

Trout Valley pics, one of the hidden gems of local Minnesota ATV Trails. While not very long in actual miles it makes up for it in beauty.
